Hi All! My name is Amanda
Menist and I am a marketing professional in the Greater New York City area.
My background in
marketing started with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with
a concentration in Marketing from Ramapo College of New Jersey. While attending
Ramapo College, I was given the opportunity to intern at a marketing
communications firm in New York City.
Post college, I found
myself constantly searching for a career in my field of interest – marketing.
After working for a year and a half in the banking industry, I decided to be
strategic about my job search and to apply for sales positions in companies
that had internal marketing departments. I landed a job as a Group Sales
Specialist for GOGO Worldwide Vacations in November 2010. While sales was
something that I truly enjoyed, I always had my eye on the golden egg – a
marketing position.
A year after my start
with GOGO, a Marketing Coordinator position opened up at Liberty Travel (GOGO’s
sister company). I applied, interviewed and landed my current role in November
2011. While I was making a big career move, I was also making a big life
decision by saying “yes” to marrying my now-fiancĂ©, Stephen. Since then, I have
utilized social media websites to search for inspirations, reviews and information
to help plan our upcoming wedding.
Through
this blog I hope to help others become inspired by the opportunities that
social media has led to appeasing and inspiring wedding planning. On my current course to completing my
Master’s of Arts degree in Integrated Marketing Communications, I find that
this area of interest is something that I am passionate about. I hope that this
blog helps and inspires my passion for integrated marketing communications and
my utilization of social media for wedding planning.
